We all know that Manhattan’s a goner. In 100, 200, maybe 300 years from now it will just be a memory. Possibly a myth. Like Atlantis or Brigadoon. “Momma, tell me again the story about the place with all the giant rats and over-priced artisanal gluton-free cupcake shops?” The oceans are rising. FACT. And Hurricane Sandy showed us the devastation of A WORLD WHERE THE WEATHER HAS GONE MAD. Thank god for cutie-patootie architect Bjarke Ingels. He and the Dezeen Project (fronted by the wickedly talented Adele Dezeen?) have come up with “Big U storm defense”s that will “secretly protect Manhattan from flooding.” Check out the gorgeous plans they have to keep the flood waters OUT of your multi-million-dollar studio apartment.
