If you say the words “Vogue cover” these days, you’re likely to start a rant or a riot. Not in Paris with Mert & Marcus behind the camera, unless it’s fashion frenzy. Both born in 1971, Mert Alas, from Istanbul worked in a design shop, and Marcus Piggot, from Wales was an assistant photographer when they met in London fifteen years ago. After a couple times working together, they decided to become a permanent team and in 1999, the duo Mert & Marcus was born. They shot their first campaign together for Louis Vuitton in 2003, featuring Beyoncé. The young photographic team started working with Vogue Paris in 2008, on what would be the first in a long line of covers. There are nine here – for the another 13 go here. (via Vogue Paris)
