The video for the moody power ballad features Wurst in a vaguely fabulous hooped veil and wedding gown, along with a sinister Vladimir Putin look-alike and a gang of cowboys in Cubist masks. Huh? Wurst has said it’s about how “we are all heroes – every day we do small heroic feats and even people who do bad things are not evil deep down.” Sure, why not. Watch it after the jump.
Via The Local:
The song has reached number four in the Austrian charts and the Austrian singer – who won Eurovision in May despite a homophobic backlash across Europe – has recently completed a string of high-profile engagements, performing at the European Parliament in Brussels, as part of a non-discrimination event.
In May one Russian MP said that Wurst’s victory signified “the end of Europe” and “there are no longer men and women, there is only it.”
Wurst is signed to Sony Music Austria, and is currently working on a full-length album.
