It’s not easy growing up gay (I can speak from personal experience, having done so in Texas) and having a famous sibling must at times be trying too (you know why everyone is always SO interested in you) but being both, has it’s own special set of pros and cons. The celebs listed here have been vocal advocate for LGBTQ rights, so none of this is breaking news but having support from your family, no matter who you are, is a good thing.

Chris Evans has spoken at length about his relationship with out brother Scott, while Adam Levine and Colin Farrell have both been equally vocal about their LGBT family members, as well.

Chloe Grace Moretz told Seventeen:

“I have two gay brothers and two straight brothers, and my gay brothers were treated horrifically until they grew up and understood how to deal with it. I will delete you and I will block you, and you will not be a part of my life if you ever say anything bad about my brothers.”

Rosie O’Donnell‘s brother Daniel was a New York Assemblyman who helped spearhead the bill that got marriage equality passed in NY state. Roseanne Barr and ex husband Tom Arnold both have gay sibs. Roseanne has said:

“I really encourage parents to stop destroying their children by doing that. It is not good family values. Being gay is not a choice. I didn’t choose to be straight anymore than my siblings chose to be gay.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ gay brother David (who also goes by Cameron) is a producer and together they’ve produced films in Wales, where they were raised.

Anne Hathaway‘s brother, Michael, is openly gay and the actress left the Catholic church due to their lack of acceptance of homosexuality:

“I couldn’t support a religion that didn’t support my brother.”

Can I get an Amen up in here?
