With not one but two films exploring his colourful love life due to be released this year, it seems Denmark’s handsome Crown Prince Frederik, 46, won’t be escaping his playboy past any time soon.
Now happily married to Mary, 42, and a father-of-four, he was once better known for his many conquests, among them lingerie model Katja Storkholm and former MP Malou Aamund.
Both he and his wife have also endured accusations of laziness made by the Danish press, with Mary’s taste for freebie handbags also coming under intense scrutiny. Nevertheless, both halves of the couple remain enormously popular in Denmark and elsewhere with Mary in particular loved as much for her impeccable dress sense as she is for her charity work.

One of the most controversial members of Sweden’s Bernadotte dynasty, Prince Carl-Philip, 35, earned a playboy reputation early on, thanks to his dark good looks, love of fast cars and even faster women. Not even his choice of bride has proved uncontroversial, with his glamorous fiancee, 30-year-old Sofia Hellqvist, boasting a risque past career as a glamour model and reality TV star.
But it is the prince himself who has the most colourful past, with his ‘Wild Summer’ of 2012 still referenced by Sweden’s tabloid press which delightedly documented his antics.
As well as going on a drunken rampage in central Stockholm while wearing an alien mask, the summer also saw him become the victim of a happy slapping incident during a holiday to Cannes.
He also, following a wild night out, managed to lose his wallet and was forced to hitch-hike to the motor race he was due to compete in, before spectacularly crashing his car on the first lap.
1. WOWZA! Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the heir to the emirate of Dubai, is the “Harry of the Middle East,” says the Daily Mail.
Known as Fazza to his friends, the prince is a keen rider, much like his father who owns the Godolphin racing team, and is well-known for his love of animals. Action man Hamdan is also an avid diver and amateur skydiver. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have time for gentler pursuits, however – his talent for writing romantic poetry has also attracted much attention.
