NYC is in full-on Björk alert!!! The Icelandic queen kicked off her full-on promo tour the other night, for new album Vulnicura, with a series of intimate shows, beginning with her epic Carnegie Hall performance. Complete with a 15-piece orchestra, members of Alarm Will Sound and elusive collaborator Arca (who produced six of the songs on the album and co-wrote two), Björk was beguiling and bitter, making it extremely clear that she is still mourning the end of the 10-year relationship she had with artist Matthew Barney. That being said, nothing helps getting over an ex better than ascending from despair in a fab gossamer dress by Geoffrey Mac and predator armor headpiece by Maiko Takeda. Tickets for upcoming shows are sold out, but you can catch more of the electronic beats pioneer at her current retrospective at The Museum of Modern Art. (photos by Santiago Felipe)
