Jon & John’s Extra Lap Recap, RuPaul’s Drag Race – Season 7, Episode 5: The Despy Awards! And Watch Out, Pearl-friend!

This week on RuPaul’s Drag Race trophies were snatched, and there was one of the most intense stand-off moments we’ve seen in the workroom all season! Out of the gate, this one was about the enigmatic Pearl, and we were taken on a roller coaster ride! So Jon Mallow and I have broken it DOWN for you, and are happy to serve our own Despy Awards dish. I loved this episode! It was packed with celebs (who knew we’d see Lil’ Kim tonight?! And Cher! Bjork! J-Lo! Lady Gaga! The late Joan Rivers, even. Oh, and the real Kathy Griffin returned!) and who doesn’t love award-show babble??! Some queens sparkled! And we even got some genius acceptance speech moments (“You don’t like me. You really don’t like me!”). And as always, Katya helped make everything clearer. (And who can’t appreciate a Bob Ross shout-out?)

But seriously… That RuPaul/Pearl face-off was beyooooond. Awkward, intense and unforgettable!!! Two strong characters not backing down. But Mother Ru is not gonna be toyed with. Children better listen!
