A creepy, balding, contact-lensed version of Johnny Depp stars in the upcoming Black Mass, as Whitey Bulger, one of the most notorious gangsters in U.S. history. The story details true (crime) events set into motion by the Boston organized crime figure. The real Whitey was convicted of murder and rots in prison, never to see a free day again –one hopes. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Bulger’s brother, with Joel Edgerton, Dakota Johnson, Jesse Plemons, Kevin Bacon and Juno Temple. It arrives in theaters in fall and I can say with near certainty, you can add Mr. Depp’s name to the short list for Best Actor at the Oscars next award’s season. Watch.
