Our favorite neo-glam musican/artist/dandy and wowlebrity Merlin Dietrich has a new single “Flying Out to Berlin” (a follow-up, of sorts, to “Silver Samovar” – MY FAVORITE SONG OF 2014!) – available now on i-Tunes! “It was mixed by Ingo Kraus at his Candy Bomber Studios in the old Tempelhof Airport building,” he says, “very much the right studio for the song! I share the production credit with Ingo and Paul Kuchenbuch, who also played guitar. Art-duo and fellow Englishmen-in-Berlin Wrench and Franks are making a video for the song, which we plan to unveil in the autumn.
“‘Flying Out to Berlin’ is a preview of my upcoming punkrock-disco album. If you would like to hear some more of the new material, we will be playing at the Loophole in Neukölln (Boddinstraße 60) as part of 48 Hours Neukölln on June 26th. This will be a special double-bill with my partner-in-crime (and in life), solo performance artist Ak!!!m.”
In other Merlin Dietrich news: a fuller version of his mini-documentary I am Merlin Dietrich is now on YouTube (with or without German subtitles). Watch it below!
And in case you’ve forgotten, here’s “Silver Samovar.”
