Upper Manhattan got a surprise visitor yesterday when a crocodile was spotted casually walking down the street. Police at the 34th Precinct tweeted;
“So this alligator was crossing 9th Avenue in Inwood . . . no, really.”
Apparently, at first, there was some confusion over whether it was a crocodile or alligator, but that was cleared up with the always helpful Twitter. (Glad we got THAT cleared up.) NYPD officers caught up to the croc at 205th Street and took it into custody, turning poor thing over to Animal Care & Control.
