Caitlyn Jenner‘s very first post-transition televised interview will air on Ellen this Tuesday, September 8. In this clip, DeGeneres questions Jenner about her “Republican” views, and how she can stand by a party that actively campaigns against issues that are important to her, both as a woman and a trans person. She answers;
“At first, I was not for it. I mean, I thought, ‘I’m a traditionalist.’ … I mean, I kind of like tradition, and it’s always been a man and a woman. And I’m thinking, ‘I don’t quite get it.’”
Jenner goes on to say that she’s changed her stance on the subject of same-sex marriage, claiming that now she…
“doesn’t ever want to stand in front of anybody’s happiness.”
and “if that word ‘marriage’ is really, really that important to you, I can go with it.”
Ellen then challenges her on not really being on board with the issue, to which Jenner responds that she is now because it’s going to be the “law of the land.”
Great get. This will be THE most discussed TV appearance come Tuesday afternoon, unless Trump decides to get a slice of pizza. Watch.
