The Top 4 became a Top 3 on RuPaul’s Drag Race this week. Extra Lap Recap breaks it down and sissies that walk! “Now, pose…”
Yes, ma’am… This week, before you could say “I’m a winner, Baby!” and re-enact the deranged high-speed-modeling in the car scene from Mahogany, we saw the Top 4 queens of Season 6 dancing, posing and acting their big gay hearts out! And we all learned a little about the semantics of “Sissyography,” we discovered that being a fresh new young model in town can be rather thankless, and that nothing is more fun than watching drag queens stage their own on-camera meltdown. Yay — we all win!
And alas, one queen sashayed away. But lord have mercy, she did give it her all. And at least now we do have a proper and old-fashioned Top 3. But, now this is when things get really rough. Who’s your winner, kids?
The RuPaul Has Two Faces! (And I just have an eyepatch.)
And while we’re talking winners, can we just give a Cable Ace Award to Ms. RuPaul herself, for basically chewing up the scenery right along with the queens this week, playing multiple roles in the music video scenes. Yes, Gawd… Mama Ru is versatile. She’s the boss, Miss Ross!
Next week is a recap is Season 6′s most twisted moments, and then on May 19, RuPaul is gonna crown America’s Next Drag Superstar. And she better not f*ck it up! For reals!
“Four queens stand before me…” Well, five if you count the fool with the mustache.
SPOILER ALERT: If you’ve not yet watched this week’s Mahogany-inspired episode, sissy that walk over to LogoTV.com and get caught up first. Cheers!
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episode 11: “The Glitter Ball”
Hey, Miss Bling… RuPaul dropped a “Glitter Ball” on the Top 5 queens on this week’s RuPaul’s Drag Race. Extra Lap Recap has your sparkly recap!
Yes, it was all about “sparkle Neely, sparkle!” as our gals had to shine bright like diamonds (and rubies, sapphires, and topaz and… rose quartz?) in this week’s challenge. After getting bitchy reading each other with puppets, then they had to whip up 3 semi-precious runway looks for the Glitter Ball on the mainstage. And these gems were not conflict-free (duh… these are drag queens), because all the gals chimed in about sending one queen home, then the lip-sync battle gave us a sense of deja vu, and the outcome was gag-inducing!
And we got return visits from Drag Race super-judges Bob Mackie and Khloe Kardashian. And by episodes’s end… WE’RE DOWN TO THE TOP FOUR!!! Are you feeling it? Are you gob-smacked? Are you feeling like a “banjee girl”? One that can take her little baby brother to school…??????? (Go watch Paris Is Burning immediately if none of this makes sense.)
“Um, Courtney girl… you got a little something on your forehead, there.”
SPOILER ALERT: I’m gonna tell you who had to sashay away this week in my recap, so if you’ve not seen the episode yet, you’d better go watch it first. LogoTV.com can help you with that.
And then next week comes the last full-on, real episode of the season! (Before the flashback-inducing clip show, and the big mega-reunion finale!) Will the Top 4 get chopped down to a Top 3? Oh yes she better watch!
While the Bianca puppet chews on my arm, I do my best Wacky Gay Inflatable Tube Man in a Sequins Dress impersonation. You’re welcome.
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episode 10: “Drag My Wedding”
Queerly beloved, it’s Drag Wedding time on RuPaul’s Drag Race! Which bridal makeover queen gets an “I do” and who gets an “I can’t”? Watch this week’s Extra Lap Recap to find out!
Yes, for Season 6, the annual makeover episode turned out to be a big fat drag wedding extravaganza with real couples getting hitched, but with a hitch… The ladies were grooms and the men were brides! Kind of a draggedy twist on marriage equality? (Like you never saw THAT coming…)
Also, for the mini-challenge our queens got messy making drag-stract artworks using just their bodies and some big splashy paints and canvases. It was artsy-fartsy… Very “Georgia O’Queef.” (Warning: I get excited and get a bit “Sunday in the Park with George” and Barbra’s “Broadway Album” up in here. It’s not pretty.) And Drag Race got a visit from real-life couple Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, who are so damned adorable they make ME wanna get all coupled up!
Speaking of “Georgia O’Queef”…
Anyway, enjoy this week’s recap, and I hope you catch the bouquet! And be prepared, this week’s departure is a heartbreaker. (So, yes… She gets a special tribute at the end of the recap. Watch ’til the end! Props 4ever!).
BenDeLaCreme and I respond to this week’s elimination. Waaaaaaahhhhh!
And SPOILER ALERT: I’m gonna spill all the drag wedding what-nots in this recap so if you’ve not watched the episode yet, then march down the aisle to LogoTV.com and take care of that first.
Now, Everybody Say LOVE!!!!
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episode 9: “Queens of Talk”
Cher’s family, Paula Abdul and a bunch of jungle creatures invaded RuPaul’s Drag Race last week. Let’s discuss the shenanigans in a new Extra Lap Recap, chickens!
Yes, animal lovers… The runway became a heavy petting zoo as birds took flight, cheetahs pranced, elephants walked and Paula Abdul even rush-rushed in for a she-union with her former Idol pup Adore Delano. An extra-large version of the Scruff Pit Crew stunk up the runway with their man-scent for some mini-challenge wordplay called “Hungmen.” And… CHER’S ENTIRE IMMEDIATE FAMILY played couch potatoes and tested our Top 7 queens’ talk show hosting duties. Love you, Georgia. You too, Chaz! Tell your mom I said “hi!”
And contrary to Cher’s Burlesque braying, it turns out you have seen the last of “You’ve Got SheMail,” as a six-season tagline got retired tonight. You can follow different sides of the debate about that on Facebook, the Huffington Post and at your local Wig Emporium, but I’m adopting the Jinkx Monsoon school of thought: “Water off a duck’s back!” Or maybe “Baby oil off a tuck’s crack?” Wait… I’m not sure that even makes sense.
Anyway, we’re down to our top six now, because one beloved queenly firebird has left us all smoldering in her wake. SHE WILL BE MISSED. And holy f*$k!! How about that lip-sync??? Who knew Paula Abdul’s “Vibeology” was the killer lip-sync jam of all time. Go Paula! I’m in a funky way… Still!
SPOILER ALERT: I spill the “T” on which of our wild runway animals was set free this week, so if you haven’t yet watched the episode, steer your safari Jeep over to LogoTV and take care of that. And because someone often asks, this week my “No Shade” sweatshirt came from the fabulous Patricia Field store in NYC. Later, cheetahs!
“Oh Scruff Pit Creeewwwwwwww!”
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episodes 7 & 8: “Glamazon by ColorEvolution” and “Drag Queens of Comedy”
This week, life got Rupersized as we got two RuPaul’s Drag Race episodes in one night. So, we’ve got two Extra Lap Recaps for you, too! Paint on some Glamazon makeup and then get ready to smudge it all up giggling at the “Drag Queens of Comedy!”
Yes, first up when the queens have to make commercials for RuPaul’s Glamazon cosmetics for ColorEvolution, things get tricky. Working in pairs brings out their bitchiness, and when it’s time to sell the product, some of our supermodels flop when their lip gloss should pop! And brace yourself for a shocker of an ending!!!
And then below, I’m recapping the “Drag Queens of Comedy” episode, where our queens hit the stage in a good old stand-up comedy smackdown. Who’ll slay ‘em? Who’ll slump? You may be surprised…
And a quick final note, to snatch up some of Ru’s Glamazon cosmetics and fragrance, sashay over to ColorEvolution.com! And if you’re into my sassy T-shirt in the “Drag Queens of Comedy” recap, hit up the bearishly fabulous lads at Big Boy Vintage. Grrrrr!
SPOILER ALERT: I tell you wins and who goes home in these recaps, so if you’ve not watched yet, do that first at LogoTV.com. And no matter how you watch, just please be sure to look painted and glam doing it… After all, “the most unforgettable women in the world wear… GLAMAZON!”
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episode 6: “Oh No She Better Don’t”
“Oh, Yes They Better Did!” This week’s our RuPaul’s Drag Race queens laid down some ’90s-girl-rap realness! Who was spicy like Salt-N-Pepa? And who could have truly used some TLC? Watch a new Extra Lap Recap and get served.
That’s right… With legendary lady rappers Eve and Trina in the house, our queens were asked to put their things down, flip it and reverse it! And they DID — with varying results! Were you feeling Team Panty Ho’s? Are were all about the Ru Tang Clan? And cutting to the chase, kittens… This week’s elimination is a divisive one. Watch and sound off! But… SPOILER ALERT: I spill all the T on who won and who got booted, so if you’ve not yet watched, visit LogoTV.com first and have at it.
AND, if you’re loving the tune “Oh No She Better Don’t” by RuPaul, DJ Shyboy and the queens, do the Dougie over to iTunes and purchase it for your sexy self. Proceeds of the sale will go to benefit the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center‘s outreach services for homeless LGBT youth. Props to that!
Finally, I’m leaving you with two things. 1) Yes, that IS Roxanne Shanté on the pink T-shirt I wear for a minute in this week’s recap. Her bust-out hit “Roxanne’s Revenge” was my junior-high jam! And 2) If you like my Keith Haring T-shirt I got it at Patricia Field in NYC, which is basically where all good things come from!
Everybody say love! And then everybody say “#GUNNTY!” XO!
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episode 5: The Snatch Game
Two words, kids: SNATCH GAME! Yes, tonight RuPaul’s Drag Race featured guest appearances by such stars as Judge Judy, Dame Maggie Smith, Paula Deen, Kim Kardashian – and the late Anna Nicole Smith and Julia Child. Who scored? Who bored? Watch and find out!
This season they made The Snatch Game the entire heart and soul of this episode… Did you like? Did it measure up to Snatch Games past? And did you dig the runway parade of the queens serving “Night of 1,000 RuPauls”??? So much identity theft going on! Who was the smoothest criminal?
Watch this week’s Extra Lap Recap and sound off! But SPOILER ALERT I do spill the beans on who gets sent home, so if you’ve not watch the real episode yet, flounce on over to LogoTV.com and take care of that, pronto!
Not to be left out, I took a twirl with my own lewk for “Night of 1,000 RuPauls.” We’ll call this pic below A Scary Brady Sequel. Boo! Mrs. Cummings IS BACK!
That’s Mrs. Cummings, if you’re nasty.
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episode 4: Shade, the Rusical!
Attention Broadway Babies! Last week on RuPaul’s Drag Race, our queens got their Patti LuPone on as they staged “Shade: The Rusical!” Let’s recap… “Add ‘em up, Bobby! Add ‘em up!”
Our fair ladyboys went for it lasts week… Singing! Dancing! They could have pranced all night! Some were “Dreamgirls”… Some weren’t. But all in all, I was living for this musical remix of Phantom meets Rent meets Cats meets 42nd Street meets… Dreamgirls! And yes, for last week’s Extra Lap Recap I felt the need to dress up. IT’S OPENING NIGHT, after all!
Also, look for glam appearances in the episode from the legendary Sheryl Lee Ralph, contemporary trans icon and musical genius Our Lady J, the ever-cute and talented Lucian Piane (Ru’s music producer) and watch to see if our queenly music veterans (Aussie Idol alum Courtney Act, American Idol vet Adore Delano!) defy gravity… Or are they losing their minds?
I don’t think I’m using this tape properly…
SPOILER ALERT: I’m gonna tell you who shuffles off to Buffalo in this recap too, so if you haven’t watched the full episode, get to LogoTV.com now. See you at Joe Allen’s after! And all that jazz…
Also, watch and find out which queen gets a loving parental message in Untucked, which queen doesn’t understand fart jokes, and which queen just needs to suck on a big fat cork! Don’t you just love theatre people???
Watch Now: RuPaul’s Drag Race, Extra Lap Recap with John Polly – Season 6, Episode 3: Scream Queens!

This week, the queens were finally all competing together and it was a massacre, Mary. Officially! Yes… Not since Paris Hilton got slayed in House of Wax has it been so much fun watching gals get their scream on! And the icing on this demented devil’s food cheesecake: Guest judges Lena Headey (aka Game of Thrones’ HBIC Cersei) and thriller movie legend, her fierceness Linda Blair! #AllPeaSoupAllShade (I stole that from Sharon Needles).

RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6, Episode 2 – RuPaul’s Big Opening, Part 2
Got Milk? How about Bianca Del Rio? Or maybe a big ol’ drink of Darienne Lake? Yes, the second batch of queens arrived on RuPaul’s Drag Race this week, so let’s RECAP!
Oh, squirrelfriends… Last week as feathers and shade were flying, we watched a gorgeous Aussie liven up the party, and we saw a whole lot of Joslyn Fox‘s bushy little tail. And since we’re on the subject of ladies’ nether regions, aren’t you glad to know that Khloe Kardashian has a large and in-charge cooter? Hurrah!!!
Anyway… Please enjoy last week’s recap shenanigans. And look out for special cameos by Drag Race alumni Morgan McMichaels and Jade Jolie! And in case you’re new to this gig: There will be SPOILERS! So, if you’ve not yet watched last week’s party-hearty episode, please go do that first at LogoTV.com.
And just for laughs, here’s shot of me, Morgan and Jade inhaling toxic bird feathers in the studio. GACK.
If you need me, I’ll be breathing heavily in my cow mask. (Watch the recap; it’ll make sense.) Or you can just follow me via @JohnPollySays. Moooooo!
RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6, Episode 1 – RuPaul’s Big Opening, Part 1
The wait is over! Season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race has begun and I’m back again with a new season of Extra Lap Recaps! Make like the queens did this week and “Jump in!” WATCH!
So, what did you think of last week’s premiere episode? Did you like getting to know the first 7 queens? Are you ready for tonight’s SECOND premiere? Do you agree that two big openings are better than one?
Queen-wise, who do you love? Do you adore Adore? Is LaGanja smokin’? Is Gia Gunn firing blanks? Enjoy the recap! And check me out… I’ve got two heads, too! Eat that Vivacious!
And if you need to watch the premiere episode before letting me talk too much and spoil it all for you, then go to LogoTV.com and get into it!
