RuPaul’s Drag Race alumnae Detox sits down with the gayest man in showbiz, Hey Qween host Johnny McGovern, to discuss drag, Dubai, her current world tour, and upcoming rap album! The takeaway, though, is an in-depth discussion about the breakup of her drag supergroup DWV. “We still speak,” Detox tells Johnny. “There are tensions when bands– and friends – work together and travel together that much. You know, egos get in the way… But I don’t give a fuck. If there’s drama I try and stay out of it, and do my job. That’s what I’m being paid for and I love what I do, so its a shame that there is inner turmoil going on. We’re still traveling together… we’re still singing together… but there’s issues going on. We keep it cute, it’s cordial, and sometimes when we don’t keep it cute… somebody has to say something… Sometimes that somebody is me, sometimes I have to (crack the whip), ‘Get it together, we have a job to do, let’s do it!’” She ended by saying: “I just want to do good shows and suck on some good cock.” Here, here, honey.
