A massive asteroid is on a collision course with Earth, and it will be the end of humanity! Well, this is the claim of an online community of biblical theorists who say that life as we know it will be wiped out this September. Despite their lack of credentials, the popularity of the prediction has now forced NASA to dismiss the theory;
“NASA knows of no asteroid or comet currently on a collision course with Earth, so the probability of a major collision is quite small. In fact, as best as we can tell, no large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred years.”
But according to the theorists, the governments of the world’s leading nations are aware that it will happen. They believe they are keeping the information secret to prevent mass panic and allow the rich and famous time to prepare for the event. (See next post) The Inquisitr reports that self-proclaimed prophet Rev. Efrain Rodriguez made the original prediction after getting a message from God. According to the ‘message’, Rodriguez says the asteroid would strike near Puerto Rico triggering earthquakes and tsunamis. This, he adds, will devastate the east coast of the US, Mexico, central and southern America. He says that NASA should issue an alert…
“so people can be relocated from the areas that are to be affected.”
These recent claims of a killer asteroid are unfounded, but scientists have long said that space rocks pose a major threat us on planet Earth. Last September, Brian Cox said we are at risk of being wiped out by asteroids – and we’re not taking the threat seriously. Cox told the Daily Mail;
“There is an asteroid with our name on it and it will hit us.”
In fact, the Earth really did have ‘near-miss’ only a few months ago.
“We didn’t see it. We saw it on the way out, but if it had just been a bit further over it would have probably wiped us out. These things happen.”
The bus-sized asteroid, named 2014 EC, came within 38,300 miles of Earth in March – around a sixth of the distance between the moon and earth. NASA is currently tracking 1,400 “potentially hazardous asteroids” and predicting their future approaches and impact probabilities. The threat is actually serious. Former astronaut Ed Lu has described it as “cosmic roulette’ and only “blind luck” has so far saved us from a serious impact.
Still others have even predicted the events will be started by Cern’s Large Hadron Collider. One blogger, said:
“The Cern logo is 666, the sign of the beast in a circle. The Cern collider looks like the all seeing eye or stargate we see so much of.”
Well, if that’s not proof, then what is, kids!? Hey, doesn’t all this doomsday talk make you want to go see San Andreas. OK – maybe not if you live in LA…?
